INTRODUCTION

Sheikhul Mashaeikh Dewan Syed Zainul Abedin Ali Khan Sahib is the Great Grandson and Present Sajjadanashin (Gaddinashin) of the Dargah-Ajmer Sharif of Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishty R.A. Popularly they have known as "Dargah Dewan" or "Dewan Sahib". The post of Sajjadanashin declared as Hereditary (Moroosi) generation after generation, down the line of Huzoor Garib Nawaz (R.A). This post has been received after their father Hazrat Dewan Syed Ilmuddin Ali Khan R.A. He was born in year 1951 at Ajmer Sharif. He lives in their parental Building "Haveli-Dewan Sahib", Near Dargah, which is situated near the Dargah Main Gate. He made education of Hindi, English, Urdu, Arabic, Persian etc. Presently he is the Member of Passenger Amenities Committee, Ministry of Railways, Govt. of India, New Delhi.

He is the only entitled person to preside the religious ceremonies in the Dargah Khwaja Garib Nawaz R.A. as a "Religious Head" of the Shrine. Since a long ago he presides the ceremonies in Dargah premises Like Mehfils in Mehfilkhana, Gusl of Mazar, Qul-Fateha and other programs in the URS Ceremony of Hazrat Garib Nawaz R.A. and Hazrat Khwaja Usman Harwani R.A. at Dargah Ajmer Sharif. Their religious activities are as:

Religious activities: -

  1. To keep contact with the Fuqaras of country and time to time issue instructions to them as regards the propagation of Hazrat Garib Nawaz R.A. Mission and Teaching.
  2. Presiding Religious Mehfil on every Thursday after namaz-e-Isha at Ahata-e-Noor, in front of Begami-Daalan. But in the month of Ramzan after Namaz-e Asar at Mehfil-Khana (Sama-Khana).
  3. Presiding Religious Mehfil on every 6th of loner month luner after namaz-e-Isha at Ahata-e-Noor, in front of Begami-Daalan.
  4. Presiding Gusl rasm by himself to the Mazar of Khwaja Garib Nawaz R.A. in URS.
  5.  Presiding over the Mehfil at Khankah of Khwaja Sahib on 5th Rajab after namaz-Zohar to Namaz-Asar.
  6. Presiding over the Mehfil at Mehfil-Khana of Khwaja Sahib on 5th & 6th Shawwal on the URS of Hazrat Khwaja Usman Harwani R.A..
  7.  Presiding over the Annual Mehfil at Ahata-e-Noor on 11th Rabi-ul-Avval on birthday of the prophet Hazrat Muhammed S.A.W. called barawafat Mehfil.
  8. Presiding over the Mehfil at Chilla Sharif of Khwaja Qutbuddin Bakhtiyar Kaki R.A.  on 14th of lunar month.
  9. Presiding over the Mehfil at Chilla Sharif of Khwaja Qutbuddin Bakhtiyar Kaki R.A.  on 13th & 14th  Rabi-ul-Avval lunar month.
 
    10.   Presiding over the Basant-Panchmi ceremony at Dargah sharif on 5th of lunar month and on 6th at Chilla Sharif of Hazrat Qutub Sahib at Ana               Sagar.
    11.   Attend the Sufi Conference for Peace & C0-existence as a President of "All India Board of Sajjadanashin and Mutavalli".
   12.   As a Delegate of the Millennium World Peace Samiti his holiness Dewan Sahib pleased to give Speech on Terrorism and Poverty in Muslim                World. Held in United Nation General Assembly Hall at New York on 27th -28th Aug 2000.
   13.   Speech on Terrorism and Poverty in Muslim World. Held in founding meeting of the World Council of Religious Leader at the United Nation                Conference Centre Bangkok, Thailand on 13th -14th Jun 2002.
    14.   Released statement through Media to Condemn the every Bomb Blast & Terrorist Attack throughout the World. Also Condemn all the
               Anti-Terrorist Act (time to time).
    15.   Chair Person of the International Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chishty Garib Nawaz (R.A.) Mission Society of India.
    16.   Member of Indian Council of Religious Leaders.
    17.   Nominated as a Member of Guiding Board of the Millennium World Peace Samiti (Council of Religious and Spiritual Leader Indian Chapter 2001).

Achievements: -

  1.  Nominated as a member of the Building Construction Committee by Central Wakf Council Ministry of Law, Legalization Legislation Department, Govt. of India in 1976.
  2. Nominated as a member of the National Railway User Consultative Council (NRUCC) by Govt. of India, Ministry of Railway Board in 1-4-2000.
  3. Nominated as a Member of Dargah Khwaja Sahib Advising Committee, Ajmer by Govt. of India Ministry of Justice and company Affairs, 1976, 1977, 1982, 83, 1987.
